Chapman’s Butchers in Baldock were runners up in the National Countryside Alliance Butcher Competition which was judged by an expert panel, (local papers covered the fact that they were regional winners) and were highly commended.

North East Herts MP Oliver Heald was there to see them walk away with their Award which was presented by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs , Rt Hon Owen Paterson MP.  Also in attendance was Lord Trenchard, who lives locally.

Commenting, Oliver Heald said, "It was fantastic to see a local firm walking away with a major national award. Chapman’s is a marvellous butchers and much loved in the area. It is good to see them receiving this national recognition."
