"I was sorry to hear that David Cameron is retiring from Parliament. The country owes him a debt for leading the country back to economic recovery, for keeping Scotland in the UK, for his focus on the environment, and for his social reforms in health and education. He also led the Coalition with great skill, patience, and diplomacy. He was widely liked and admired as Prime Minister, and I was proud to serve in his Shadow Cabinet and then later, in government, as his Solicitor General. On a personal level, I am sure that my constituents would wish him and Samantha a happy and successful future."
